About Getting around the Ljubljana region
Kamnik and Kranj are easy by train from Ljubljana’s main station, and buses from the main bus station next door reach most towns in the region. For the castles, caves, gorges and Krvavec, a car is far simpler; remember that Slovenian motorways need an e-vignette, bought online before you drive. The Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre can help with guided trips. Our advice: check current timetables before you set out, as some services are less frequent at weekends.
