Buses run from Ljubljana to Kranjska Gora (about 2 hours) and, in summer, over the Vršič pass to Bovec. A car gives the most freedom; the pass is usually closed in winter. The Bohinj railway and its car train link Bohinjska Bistrica with the Soča side.
