About Congress Square & Zvezda Park
Congress Square takes its name from the Congress of Laibach of 1821, when the great powers of Europe met here. Plečnik redesigned it in the 1920s, and it is framed by the university, the Slovenian Philharmonic and the Baroque Ursuline Church, around the plane trees of Zvezda Park.
