Ljubljana Castle crowns the hill above the old town. Its walls date mostly from the 15th and 16th centuries, and today it is a lively cultural centre with exhibitions, a chapel, summer events and two restaurants. Climb the Outlook Tower for the view over the red roofs to the Alps. Walk up through the woods in about 15 minutes, or take the funicular from Krekov trg by the market.
