About Republic Square

Republic Square was laid out after the Second World War, with the National Assembly building, whose portal is decorated with sculpture, the twin towers of the 1970s and Cankarjev dom, the cultural centre. On 26 June 1991 the celebrations of Slovenia’s independence were held here.
