About Kavarna in slaščičarna Maxi
The café and cake shop of the Maxi department store, on Republic Square, is one of the oldest in Ljubljana. It is famous for the Maxi slice, a rich walnut cake, and also bakes the Tivoli or Bellevue slice, walnut cake with chocolate icing, potica, home-made pies, raw cakes and petits fours, all available to take away. It closes on Sundays. Our advice: buy a box of Maxi slices for the journey home.
