The Technical Museum of Slovenia fills the former monastery estate of Bistra Castle, on the south-western edge of the Ljubljana Marshes, with collections on forestry, wood, hunting and fishing, electrical engineering, textiles, agriculture, transport, motorcycles, milling, wheelwrighting, horseshoeing, baking and printing. You can see a flour mill, a water-powered smithy, a reconstructed veneer mill and a Venetian sawmill, and walk a nature trail through the forest above. Our advice: a great family day; allow at least three hours.
