Špica
Ljubljana’s old town beach
About Špica
Špica, “the pointed tip”, is a renovated stretch of the Ljubljanica embankment about ten minutes’ walk south of the old town, landscaped as a park. It was once the town beach, and on fine days people still come to sunbathe on its large wooden decks. Beside it, the light 38-metre Hladnik’s Footbridge, opened in 2009 for walkers and cyclists, leads across the river to the Botanical Garden. Our advice: bring a picnic and catch a river boat back to the centre.
