Pri Kuklju, in Velike Lašče, about 30 km south of the city, is one of the oldest family-run gostilnas in central Slovenia, with a history going back to the 19th century and a reputation as one of the country’s best. Its potica, the rolled walnut cake, is outstanding, baked in the inn’s own bakery and often served as part of themed menus linked to festive traditions.
