Neighbourhood guide · Ljubljana, Slovenia
Trnovo & Krakovo
South of the centre, Ljubljana slows down: low houses and vegetable gardens, Plečnik’s home and his Trnovo Bridge, the Roman wall of Emona and riverside bars.
About Trnovo & Krakovo
Krakovo is one of the oldest suburbs, with market gardens that still supply the Central Market; Trnovo, around its church, is where Plečnik lived. Between them runs the Gradaščica stream, and the Roman wall of Emona lines Mirje.
Križanke, the summer stage of the Ljubljana Festival, and the French Revolution Square mark the edge of the centre. In summer, Trnovo’s riverbank bars are full in the evening.
