Čad, on Cesta na Rožnik at the foot of Rožnik hill, is one of Ljubljana’s best-known places for Balkan grilled meat: pljeskavica served on kajmak, ćevapčići and ražnjići, with vegetable kebabs and cheese gibanica for vegetarians, game dishes and Slovenian wines. There is outdoor seating and a play area, which makes it popular with families. Our advice: walk up Rožnik or round Tivoli first, then come down for lunch.
