Mihovec, in Zgornje Pirniče below the northern slopes of Šmarna gora, has been run by the same family since 1850. They farm 30 hectares organically and grow almost everything the kitchen uses, from flour to meat, for seasonal Slovenian dishes, game, freshwater fish and home-made bread, schnapps and wines. On Friday and Saturday nights the house band plays for dancing. Our advice: Sunday lunch after a walk up Šmarna gora.
