Maru is a small Japanese restaurant and café in Upper Šiška run by chef Yoshihiko Fujita, known as Yoshi, who trained in Ljubljana with the chef Janez Bratovž. Expect sushi, sashimi, miso soup, tempura and teriyaki, and a daily “greeting from the chef” depending on what the Ljubljana fish market has to offer; everything is also available to take away. Our advice: book ahead, as it is small and popular.
Why it's on our list
- Sushi, sashimi and tempura
- A daily dish from the fish market
- Away from the crowds
Opening hours, prices and seasonal openings change, so please check with Maru before you go.
